What begins as a light-hearted look at a comedic actor turned President of Ukraine becomes a front-row seat to history on February 24, 2022. While filming in Kyiv, directors Sean Penn and Aaron Kaufman witness first-hand the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s inauguration as one of the most significant wartime leaders of the modern era. Superpower received it's world premiere at Berlin Film Festival 2023, with an address from President Zelenskyy amidst the 1 year commence of the invasion.

Superpower is co-directed by Sean Penn and Aaron Kaufman. The feature length documentary is presented by Fifth Season and VICE World News, in association with Projected Picture Works, Public School Productions, Aldamisa Entertainment and produced by VICE Studios.
